On the same version of Wine, and the same prefix, after installing DXVK 0.70, the game is able to start up, and go in game.Doing so fixed the issue - as this is likely an isolated WineD3D issue, I reverted it back to D3D11 and moved on. In-game, the world looked too bright, so I changed the graphics backend of the game from Direct3D11 to Direct3D10. ![]() On Wine Staging 3.14, after running the Winetricks corefonts and steam verbs in a clean 64-bit prefix, the game is able to start up, and go in-game.Will installing something with winetricks change it for proton? So after unchecking all the "DLC" for Dota 2 it seems all the errors went away. The client kept trying to overwrite files that didnt exist and it didnt like that. So i looked in the log file and noticed they were all sfm kind of. So i may have fixed it? It looks like one of the Dota 2 updates yesterday ticked VR Tools and SFM(i think thats what its called) tools when the files for that never existed. I even reinstalled steam and dota (game that has been updating a lot lately) and that didnt work. My hdd isnt failing (as i have games stored across three and the error happens with all). I have found a solution of just ignoring it and restarting the update and it works but having to manually restart it 10 times for a single update is very annoying. It seems that every update i do it times out with disk write error. ![]()
